Privacy Policy

What we collect

Nothing. We do not operate any servers for Squarescan and the app does not send your documents, text, receipts or usage data to us or to anyone else.

Camera and photos

Squarescan asks for the camera to scan pages, and for your photo library only when you choose to import a picture. Edge detection, straightening, filters and text recognition (Apple's Vision framework) all run on your iPhone. Scanned pages are stored inside the app on your device.

Receipts and warranty reminders

Store names, totals, dates and warranty periods read from your receipts are stored on your device. Warranty reminders are local notifications scheduled by your iPhone; no reminder data is sent anywhere.

Face ID

If you lock your ID folder, iOS handles Face ID or your passcode. Squarescan only receives a yes/no result and never sees biometric data.

Spotlight and widgets

To let you find documents from iPhone search, Squarescan adds document titles and recognized text to your device's on-device Spotlight index. Widgets and Control Center buttons read a small summary (such as upcoming warranty dates) from a container shared with the app on your device. Deleting a document removes it from both.

Sharing

When you tap Share, the PDF or image goes only to the destination you pick (for example Mail, Files or Messages). That destination's own privacy policy then applies.

Backups and iCloud

If you turn on iCloud backup (Squarescan Pro), your pages and document details are copied to Squarescan's private folder in your own iCloud account, so you can restore them on a new iPhone. Apple stores it; we cannot see or access it. Turn it off any time in Settings.

Separately, like most apps, Squarescan's data can be included in your iPhone's own iCloud or computer backup, depending on your device settings.

Purchases

Squarescan Pro (lifetime, yearly or weekly) is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never see your payment details. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

Children

Squarescan does not knowingly collect any personal data from anyone, including children.

Deleting your data

Delete a document in the app to remove it, or delete the app to remove everything it stored.
